The handover inspection is the last stage in constructing a new home. It is basically a thorough and detailed examination of the interior, exterior and site works of the property. The things that are identified in handover inspections include:
- building defects
- things that aren't done properly and areas, which need a final touch up
- minor defects
- poor workmanship
It is the report for the buyer of a newly constructed house and takes place before the buyer takes possession of the new house by making the final payment.
As an independent party, we work for the buyer to identify the outstanding defects or incomplete finishes. We itemise the defects that we have identified in a detailed report so that you can hand it over to your builder for rectification. We sent the report by email within 24 hours of inspection. (See our price to carry out a handover inspection).
It's important that all new owners have this kind of inspection done to ensure that the work carried out has been in compliance with the Australian Standard.
